Weather fouls Junior Jungle Day
As a winter storm continued to pile ice on Pittsburg and much of the region, officials at Pittsburg State University met to consider how to handle Junior Jungle Day, a campus visit experience for high school juniors, which is scheduled for Monday, Jan. 15.
Director of Admission Melinda Roelfs, said the final decision was to officially cancel the event while at the same time plan to accommodate any who are able to make it to campus that day.
"We will have staff here for those who come," Roelfs said.
Roelfs said high school juniors who had planned to attend but are unable to because of the weather may schedule an individual visit from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m., Monday through Friday, later this spring.
