PSU names new Alumni Relations director
Pittsburg State University Vice President of University Advancement Dr. J. Bradford Hodson today announced the appointment of Johnna Pesavento Schremmer as the next director of alumni and constituent relations. Schremmer, who currently serves the university as director of major gifts for the Colleges of Education and Arts & Sciences, will assume her new duties in January. Her appointment followed a national search.
“We had three very qualified candidates for this position,” Hodson said. “Johnna was selected for her experience in university advancement and her vast knowledge of the complex mission that this division plays in the overall success of the university. I have great confidence that she will do a wonderful job leading alumni and constituent relations and fulfilling the overall vision of the university.”
The director of alumni and constituent relations supervises the Alumni Relations Office and the programs that reach out to PSU alumni. Schremmer will also serve as the executive director of the PSU Alumni Association and oversee “The Jungle,” PSU’s new online community.
“It is a great honor to be chosen to serve PSU in such an important position,” Schremmer said. “I am extremely excited to work with a great staff, the PSU Alumni Association Board, and the whole PSU community to bring the department to the next level. There are great things planned for the future, and I am eager to be a part of that progress.”
Schremmer was named a director of major gifts in the Office of University Development in 2004. Previously she worked for Coldwell Banker Jim Bishop and Associates in Pittsburg.
Schremmer received a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a major in management from Pittsburg State University in 2002, and earned a master’s degree in business administration from PSU in 2003. She is an active member of the Pittsburg Area Chamber of Commerce and is service committee chairperson of Pittsburg Sunrise Rotary. She has held leadership positions with the Pittsburg Little Balkans Festival Board since 2001, and currently serves as vice president. She is also a member of the class of 2007 SEK Regional Leadership Academy.
Schremmer and her husband, Tony, live in her hometown of Pittsburg.
