Commencement planned for Dec. 15
More than 560 students are eligible to participate in winter commencement ceremonies at Pittsburg State University on Friday, Dec. 15. Commencement exercises begin at 7:30 p.m. in the John Lance Arena in the Weede Physical Education Building.
The PSU alumni will be honored at commencement with the PSU Alumni Association's Meritorious Achievement Award. They are David Pierce, a professor of law at the Washburn University School of Law in Topeka; Samuel Steele, Jr., a physician practicing urology in western North Carolina; and Richard Stilwell, the president and founding shareholder of Insight Management Consultants in Prairie Village, Kan. A reception for the award winners will be held at 5 p.m. in Heritage Lounge in the Overman Student Center.
Immediately preceding commencement, graduates, their families and friends are invited to the traditional President's Reception, which begins at 6 p.m. on the Mezzanine in John Lance Arena.
