Information, massages help students relieve stress
Stress is a natural byproduct of finals week for college students, but there are ways for students to manage their stress levels, experts say. Pittsburg State University students can get some tips about managing stress along with a free neck and shoulder massage on Monday, Dec. 11. Finals at PSU begin on Monday and continue until Friday.
Gorillas In Your Midst, a student peer health education group, will sponsor the free finals week "stress buster" massages from 1-3 p.m. on Dec. 11 in the lower level of the Overman Student Center. The massages will be provided under the guidance of licensed massage therapist Lorraine Achey.
Information on stress reduction techniques and ways to manage test anxiety will be available at tables in the student center from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Organizers say they realize that students are the only ones who experience stress, so the massages are available to faculty, as well.
