9-11 first responders share their stories at PSU
Two first responders to the 9-11 terrorist attack on the World Trade Towers will speak about their experiences and about their long-term health problems during a program at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 6, in the Crimson and Gold Ballroom in Pittsburg State University's Overman Student Center. The free program is sponsored by the PSU Constitutional Freedom Society.
Craig Bartmer, a retired New York City Police officer, suffers from pulmonary fibrosis. David Miller, a Gulf War veteran and former member of the National Guard, has mesothelioma. Both men are members of 9/11 CARE, an organization formed to provide services for persons suffering from illnesses linked to the terrorist attack and the cleanup that followed.
