Plowman named assistant director of PSU Alumni and Constituent Relations

Whitney Plowman has been named assistant director of Pittsburg State University's Office of Alumni and Constituent Relations. Johnna Schremmer, PSU’s director of alumni and constituent relations, said Plowman was selected following a national search.

“We had an impressive applicant pool. Whitney’s knowledge of the university, her understanding of the benefits of engaging alumni and her special events experience were factors in her selection,” Schremmer said.

Plowman was one of the many graduates who walked across the platform during the university’s 2007 commencement exercises. She received a master of arts degree in communication. The Overland Park native earned her undergraduate degree in communication from PSU in 2005.

During 2006-2007 academic year, Plowman served as the graduate assistant for annual giving in the Office of University Development. She assisted with such initiatives and activities as the Phonathon, the faculty/staff campaign and the community campaign.

In her new role, Plowman will plan and coordinate alumni and constituent programming including the Gorilla Gatherings alumni meetings and she will market the PSU Alumni Association.
