Industry reps from around the world attend PSU casting course

Representatives from industry are back in school this week, learning the latest about investment casting in the Kansas Technology Center at Pittsburg State University. The 30 participants in the Investment Casting Institute’s 8th industry certification course represent companies from the coast to coast in the U.S. and also Sweden, Brazil, Australia and Mexico.

Investment casting, also known as precision casting or the lost wax process, is used to create precision parts for a wide range of industries from auto manufacturing to aeronautics.

Participants at the course at PSU earn certification as investment casting specialists. Russ Rosmait, professor of engineering technology at Pittsburg State, is the director of the Investment Casting Training Center.

The Investment Casting Institute certification course runs daily through June 5.
